Printer-friendly versionConsider the following when preparing for, and having, an interview:
- Always dress professionally for any interview you may have. Bring extra copies of your résumé in case someone interviewing you is unfamiliar with it.
- Always arrive at least 15 minutes early for your interview to compensate for unanticipated delays.
- Always be honest when answering questions in an interview.
- Ask questions! Ask about things that may affect your interest in the job, such as "Can you tell me about the company/project/company history?" or "Can you tell me about the project environment?"
- Eye contact with the interviewer is very important and creates a lasting impression of you in their mind.
- When answering a question, provide as much detail as you can. Avoid providing yes or no answers.
- Express interest and be passionate about the position – it shows!
