Over the last few years organizations large and small have built security walls around the perimeter of their IT infrastructures and applications. Initially, this strategy worked well, considering that the original threats were mitigated by protecting IT and corporate data from breaches, intrusion and theft using firewalls, VPNs, intrusion detection systems, etc. At the same time, most IT security decisions and investments were made based on the technical merits of point solutions, which for the most part addressed the immediate organizational needs, but lacked the long-term view and strategies essential for organizations to leverage its investments in people and technology.

The rapid acceleration of changes we witness in the IT landscape is forcing organizations to reconsider their IT security postures and long term investments.
