Development of C-net Server Monitoring tool

C-net is used to monitor servers, routers and switches from the management server. The monitoring of C-net is based on internet or IP based network and whenever internet connection of remote site is down we cannot monitor any of the server on remote site.

The purpose of this project is to create a tool which can dial in to the remote site using telephone (PSTN) line to check server status. This purposed tool has to start dialing out to remote site using telephone line as soon as C-net start reporting status of remote server down because that status could be due to non functioning of internet connection of that site or server at that site is really down. Once this tool had connection to remote site using telephone line can check status of server and status of internet connection of that site. After having correct information on status of site we can efficiently troubleshoot problem without loosing any valuable time.

The project is being carried out in following phases:

To investigate the various types of data log created by C-net.
To analyze log file to identify different possible types of data fields.
Development of Database.
Development of tool to write logs files to Database.
Development of Database containing connection details for each remote site.
Development of program, which can establish remote connection using data from database.
Perform C-net tests through new remote connection.
Create Reports from test results.
Integration of tools with C-net as additional feature
Testing C-net after integration.
