Cistel Technology Inc. helps University of Ottawa to win R&D contract on development of protocols for wireless ad-hoc networks.
Ottawa, Ontario - February 1, 2005
In February 2005, University of Ottawa, with financial and infrastructural commitments from Cistel Technology Inc., won a contract from NSERC under the Collaborative Research and Development (CRD) Grant. The project is aimed towards development of a scalable, secure and localized data communication and topology control protocols for wireless ad hoc networks.
The project will be a very good potential for commercialization with the proposed position based embedded routing software solution. When completed (expected completion in 2 years), the project will offer Cistel a wide range of applications that will utilize secure and scalable network routing embedded software solutions based on the position of mobile nodes/terminals in an infrastructure and ad-hoc wireless environment. Cistel will be able to deploy the embedded routing software solution in a wide range of ad-hoc and intelligent sensor devices including PDAs, cell phones, laptops and new sensor devices.
